Thursday Evening Paddles

The Thursday Evening paddles have started up again now that the days are longer.

These are peer led paddles, which basically means that they are a chance to get out on the water and paddle with other fellow club members but they are not formally coached sessions. Having said that though, there are always experienced paddlers on hand who are more than happy to give any help or advice as needed to beginners.

The sessions are suitable for all types of kayak and all level of paddlers and provide a great opportunity to get into paddling with a group of friendly people who just enjoy getting out on the water. We are a sociable bunch so usually frequent the nearest pub afterwards for a chat along with the obligatory post paddle pint and chips! What better way could there be to spend your evening?

The location of the Thursday evening paddles varies between Shanklin, Newtown Creek and the River Medina. We usually meet at around 6pm to be on the water by 6.30pm prompt to make the most of the evening light. Full details can be found on the calendar on the website so why not come along and join us, we are usually fairly easy to spot!  For more information please talk to trip organiser Adrian Brown.

Just to wet your appetite, here are a few pictures from the first Thursday evening of the year which was from The Folly Inn down the River Medina.

Hope to see you all on the water soon!
